Clubhouse Roundup!
We've been really getting into the discussion this past month or two on the Bid Boss Clubhouse, our free community for business development professionals in the humanitarian and international development sectors.
For those of you who aren't members yet, I wanted to do a quick roundup of what you're missing! Here are some things that members are chatting about:
A member asked for a quick pulse check on whether a BD director is needed at a small business while they are in the transition to graduating from "small" to "large"
Someone hopped into the comments of an old article to ask how different organizations do after action reviews on proposal processes, including both how they structure the process and how to navigate the sometime tricky dynamics.
One member cross-posted an article from Devex about requests from Republican lawmakers that USAID disclose nonpublic information on how NICRA rates are negotiated, which struck a chord with Clubhouse members.
An anonymous member shared their personal story of what happened when their BD team was chronically overloaded after leadership increased targets without increasing staff support to achieve them (spoiler: they left).
One of our team members did a pulse check on when BD teams have the appetite / budget for professional development, with a result that surprised me a bit!
Someone asked for recommendations for a communications firm from the Global South while exploring partnership opportunities for an upcoming bid.
Want to know more about any of these discussions? Check them out in the Clubhouse!
And, if you aren't a member yet, drop me a line and let me know why! I'm curious what barriers to joining might be, even if it's just that you hadn't learned about it yet.
