Joelle Petrus

Digital Nomad (also a humanitarian response expert)

Joelle Petrus has over 18+ years working on international issues, focusing on international development. Her extensive field-based experience covers 12 years living and working in Europe, MENA, Africa, Asia and LAC - often in non-permissive environments and conflict zones. Suffering from burnout due to these earlier experiences, Joelle then found a better fit as an independent consultant (Proposal Development / M&E) based in DC. Recently, Joelle started exploring a different way to work, travel and live abroad – digital nomading. As a digital nomad, Joelle has worked for over the last two years in Mexico, Costa Rica, Tunisia, Portugal, Germany and Slovakia. She would like to share with you the things she’s learned about nomading, whether it’s just extending your vacation or a long-term move.
